BrokenYesterday afternoon the kids were outside riding bikes. Felicity was riding her new scooter that she got for her birthday! Then out of the blue Felicity starts crying and Jon and I walked over to see how bed she was hurt. She was holding her wrist and screaming like I have never heard her scream before! When I saw her wrist I knew we would be going to the hospital, So away we went. Jon stayed home with Gabe, Caden and Connor while I went to the hospital. Reagan just had to come with me. But after she saw what they did to Felicity I think she had wished she stayed home. In the car Felicity was just crying her eyes out because every bump gave her tremendous pain. So I was crying because I felt so bad and couldnt make it stop. Reagan was plugging her ears! So after what seemed like eternity we made it to American Fork IHC hospital. They got us right back and started working on Felicity. The ortho DR was already in the ER because he had just finished with a older boy that had done the same thing. From that point everything happened so fast. They knocked Felicity out and away they went. Before I knew it I heard this loud snap! I looked up at the DR and he had Felicitys arm in his hands and had just put it back in the straight position! Tears swelled my eyes and I looked over at Reagan and she had tears too. I am sure the both of us had a look of pure shock. The Dr asked if I was okay and all I could do was shake my head yes. They took more X-rays to make sure it was back to the normal position. And that was it! We just had to stay and wait to make sure Felicity was okay and had no complications from the sleeping medication. They wrapped up her arm in a splint and ace bandage. I going in on Tuesday to the orthopedic DR and in a week she will get a cast. And that has to stay on for 5 weeks.
I have to say the American Fork IHC hospital is a great hospital. In the 2 times I have Been there, both for broken bones, they where fast and efficient, and great with my kids.
All IHC hospitals I've been to are so awesome. I'm so sad I don't have insurance there anymore. :( That must have been such a hard thing to go through as a mom, I remember crying just when Will was getting his first set of shots. LOL
